Van Isle Marina is a premier full-service marina in the Pacific Northwest situated in Tsehum Harbour in Sidney, BC. Position Overview:

Reporting to the facilities and maintenance manager, the crew member has a hands-on multi-faceted role which requires both working alone or as part of a team. The crew member ensures the highest standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of all company-owned properties. The crew member works efficiently and effectively to support excellent marina guest experiences.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Self Leadership

• Arrive to work on time and in uniform
• Organize detailing tools and supplies for assigned activities
• Complete tasks efficiently
• Take pride in quality of work
• Participate in performance evaluation process

Department Operations

• Follow company purchasing practices and cost control measures
• Strive to exceed detailing standards
• Ensure all activities are aligned with the Marina’s Purpose Statement
• Commitment to the Standards for Excellence and Value

Health & Safety

• Respond appropriately to emergencies
• Work in accordance with health, safety and environmental legislation, regulations, and company policies
• Report deficiencies

Supports

• Work cooperatively with management and other marina employees
• Regular meetings with manager
• Communication through company intranet

Qualifications

• Experience building docks, decks and/or framing skills are considered an asset
• Demonstrated customer service skills

Duties/Skills

• Repair docks, buildings, boathouses
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities
• Perform general grounds maintenance
• Operate power tools, cleaning equipment, work vehicles
• Clean driver’s abstract
• Pleasure Craft Operators Card
• Ability to swim desirable
• First aid certification (Level 1)
• Basic Computer skills /Microsoft office
• Recreational boating experience useful
