The Sidney Summer Market is back!  Every Thursday evening starting June 7th Beacon Avenue between first and fifth street shuts down for this wonderful market.  Over 200 vendors fill the streets and sell gifts, fresh produce, hand-made crafts, and much more.  The market runs from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm and is a must see event.

The 8th Annual Floating Boat & Marine Trade Show is June 1st through 3rd at the Boat Basin in downtown Nanaimo.  This is an exciting boat show that you can’t miss!  Over 3500 feet of dock space is allocated to showcase new and previously owned boats.

Boat Show Schedule:

• Friday June 1st, noon – 7 pm
• Saturday June 2nd, 10 am – 6 pm
• Sunday June 3rd, 10 am – 4 pm

This boat show is for seasoned and beginner boaters.  There will be the latest in marine supplies, equipment, and information and the Marine Trade Show offers information and education for the beginner boater.

Van Isle Marina’s yacht brokers will be present during the festival and displaying three boats for sale: 32′ Proline Express 2006, 33′ Tiara 3300 Open 1997, and a 40′ Riviera Flybridge Convertible 2002.

The Peninsula Country Market is one of the longest running Open Air markets on South Vancouver Island.  It first opened in 1991 and is still going strong.  The market is open every Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm starting June 2nd, 2012.  The market also offers live entertainment on Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.  Check out their musical line-up.

Starting Friday, May 18th the Fuel Dock will be open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm until September 30th, 2012.

The Fuel Dock offers many services including a marine store, visitor moorage, holding tank pump-out, washrooms, and Canadian Customs dock.

We also offer a volume fuel discount program that helps save you money when filling up your tank.

The 69th Swiftsure International Yacht Race will take place in Victoria’s Inner Harbour from Saturday, May 26th to Monday, May 28th, 2012.  The Royal Victoria Yacht Club is one of the oldest yacht clubs on the Pacific Coast and is the host for the 69th Swiftsure Race.

Maple Bay Marina is hosting the 17th Annual Wooden Boat Festival from May 18th to 20th, 2012.  This is a West Coast boating event where like-minded boat owners can come together and share their appreciation and enthusiasm for wooden boats.

The Saanich Peninsula Service Clubs are hosting the Nautical & Outdoor Recreation Swap & Shop Saturday, May 12th, 2012 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Panorama Recreation Centre.  This is an indoor and outdoor market raising money for youth projects.  You can sell items yourself or donate them to the service clubs.

The service clubs are also hosting a pancake breakfast from 8:00 to 10:30 am.  There will be live musical entertainment, a Kids Zone with a bouncy castle and face painting, and a chance for you to learn about fly fishing on Vancouver Island.
