On Friday @ approximately 1.14 pm the torch relay will begin in Sidney. The starting point is Beacon Ave and Pat Bay Highway and the completion point for this leg of the 45,000 kilometer journey is Tulista Park by approximately 1.30 pm. Route details can be found @ www.vancouver2010.com

Van Isle Marina extends our sincere gratitude to those neighbours and emergency personnel that responded and extinguished the fire on A Dock last Tuesday morning. The removal of the remains of the three burned boathouses and vessels is now complete.

The Gays are doing very well and appreciate the many inquiries they have received from friends and those expressing concern.

At Aproximately 11am this morning, Tuesday October 6th, smoke and then a fire was reported in a boathouse on A Dock. Emergency crews and marina neighbours arrived to assist at the scene. Before the fire was contained and extinguished boathouses and vessels in A15, A16, & A17 were destroyed. There were no injuries involving people. Details of how the fire started are not known at this time.
